Dave takes a 4 mile “frying pan” shaped route from the hamlet of Ashlett Creek (located close to Fawley, on the Western side of Southampton Water) to Calshot.
After parking my car at the (free) car park at Ashlett Creek, I follow the shoreline South past the disused Fawley Power Station, with super views across Southampton Water.
I make my way to Calshot Spit and head East to the far end where I explore the site that was once RAF Calshot and now has a RLNI station & activity centre. I get to investigate Calshot Castle (built in 1539 by Henry 8th before continuing back Westwards along Calshot beach (where Logan got to have some fun in the sea!).
My walk takes me through the small hamlet of Calshot and I get to pass Tristan Close (where evacuees from the volcanic eruption at Tristan Da Canha were housed temporarily in the early 1960’s.
I complete my journey by heading back along the shoreline to my starting point at Ashlett Creek.
I was filming in mid August on a lovely sunny, but hazy, morning.
