Dave takes a gentle stroll around the area at Beaulieu Road.
As well as viewing some stunning heathland & woodland we explore the New Forest Pony Sales Yard, the site of a Charcoal Burner’s Pit, the crater caused by a WWII German Parachute Mine and – right at the end – experience the famous New Forest Drift (round – up of ponies) happening right in front of us!
I should point out that it is “best advice” from the New Forest Park Authorities not to be in the vicinity whilst a Drift / Pony round up is taking place but in this situation I was “under the supervision” of a couple of helpful stewards and indeed I was filming from what was deemed a “safe area” by them both.
